PRAISE THE LORD FOR
SHARE-A-THON CELEBRATION 2006!
Dates
Our 14th Annual Share-A-Thon will begin Thursday, October 5th at 4:00 P.M., and continue through Saturday, October 7th.
Theme
This Year’s Theme Is “Around The World And To All Generations”—We in this corner of the world have been blessed for many years by the ministries of many dedicated pastors who have preached and taught the Word of God, and stood faithfully for its Truths. We are also now blessed with many young pastors who are doing a great job of following in their footsteps. During the Share-A-Thon, we will be talking with many of these younger generation pastors about the men who have influenced their lives and ministries.
We also want to focus some attention on the fact that our potential listening audience is now worldwide! The potential for reaching souls anywhere and everywhere in the world is growing every year as technology continues to give us new opportunities that were unheard of a few years ago. For instance, we hope to provide a live video stream of our broadcasting on Saturday over the Internet. Whether we are able to implement this in time to “telecast” this Share-A-Thon or not, it is very “doable” for the future. Please check out our web site, audio stream and (maybe) our telecast stream at www.wordchristianbroadcasting.com.
Schedule Of Events
Live On-Air Broadcasting Beginning At 4:00 P. M. Thursday, October 5, And Continuing Through Saturday, October 7 — Bro. Johnny Simpson and myself will once again be live throughout the entire Share-A-Thon period. Dr. Bill Wininger will join us for much of the time, as will Sandy Johns, Aaron Evans, and a number of young pastors. In addition, we always have many “impromptu” times on air with friends who drop by.
Open House Saturday, October 7, At Our Studios Located ¼ Mile Off I-20 At The Fairburn Road Exit. We are behind the Shell station on the Douglasville side of I-20. Beginning at 11:30 A. M., we will have free grilled hamburgers and hotdogs with all the trimmings, and live Gospel music in our parking lot. Inside the studios, there will be a “beehive” of activity with ringing telephones, people running to and fro, and a whole lot of fellowship (spelled “talking”).
Drawings For Jewelry, DVD’s, and CD’s — We will hold periodic drawings for over $3,000 jewelry donated by Hall’s Jewelers of Powder Springs. All Pre-Pledgers, as well as those who call in, will be included in every drawing beginning at 4:00 P. M. Thursday. The last drawing will be at 7:00 P. M. Saturday. In addition, drawings will be held every hour for Southern Gospel DVD’s and CD’s.
Appreciation Gifts
All who pledge will receive a biography of the great evangelist, Billy Sunday. This former “boozing” professional baseball player for the Chicago White Sox was saved at the Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago. He held great citywide Revivals around the country, with such power that bars and taverns would have to close when he came to town.
Those who pledge above $12.50 per month/$150.00 annually will also receive a DVD of the “Life Story of Billy Sunday”, which includes actual video of him preaching.
Goals And Projects
Our Financial Goal this year is $100,000—This is a large, but needed, goal. By next spring, we expect to increase the early morning and late afternoon power on WDPC Dallas from 500 to 3,250 watts. Subject to FCC approval, this will complete an effort we began in the fall of 2003, shortly after our increase to 5,000 watts during the greater part of the day. The total cost for our current project should be between $50,000-60,000.
Thank You For Being A Part Of This Ministry
We are a ministry of helps to local churches, pastors, families, and individual Christians. Last year’s opening of the Christian Supply Outlet, and implementing of Internet streaming are helping us to better serve fundamental Christians. We need your help to continue growing and expanding our service for the Lord.
May we ask for your help in:
· Praying for the Share-A-Thon
· Listening whenever possible
· Coming to our Open House
· Supporting the ministry as God has prospered you, and directs you
Thank you,
Ken Johns
